What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an effective form of health care that has evolved into a complete and holistic medical system. It is a noninvasive medical system to diagnose and help people get well and stay healthy. Fine, sterile needles are placed at specific acupoints on the body. This activates the body's i (pronounced "chee") and promotes, immunity and physical and emotional health. It is safe, painless, effective and covered by most private insurance companies.
What to expect?
The needles are approximately the size of a cat's whisker. The sensation caused by an acupuncture needle varies. You may experience some discomfort as the needles are inserted, or a sensation of energy spreading and moving around the needle. This is called the "Qi sensation". All of these reactions are good and a sign that the treatment is working.
